Deputies patrolling Canyon Country observed a vehicle with several vehicle code violations. During a traffic stop to warn/cite the driver, they saw a canister of pepper spray on the male passenger’s lap, as well as drug paraphernalia within reach of both the male passenger and female driver.

Records indicated the female driver was driving on a suspended license and the male passenger was a convicted felon with an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

During a search of the vehicle, deputies located additional drug paraphernalia, narcotics, a cut catalytic converter and tools commonly used for thefts of catalytic converters.

The male was cited and released in the field for felon in possession of tear gas, alongside his warrant.  The female was arrested on charges ranging from grand theft, to possession of a controlled substance and more. She was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and subsequently released on citation to appear in court at a later date.
