Theft from a Store

Deputies recently responded to a call for service regarding a theft from a store in Canyon Country. A female had exited with several items in hand, never making an attempt to pay.

Deputies arrived and were able to locate the vehicle the suspect fled in. Two occupants were immediately detained. A search of the male occupant resulted in the recovery of a counterfeit key.

A vehicle search resulted in the recovery of the stolen merchandise, as well as mail and several credit cards not named to either party, multiple tools commonly used for burglary, drug paraphernalia and more.

A male and female were ultimately arrested for identity theft, possession of access cards with intent to defraud and more. They were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and later released.
