Today marks the 29th anniversary of the 1994 Northridge Earthquake. The 6.7 magnitude earthquake rocked northern Los Angeles counties for nearly 10 seconds and caused significant damage across Southern California, including right here in Santa Clarita. Check out photos from the Santa Clarita archive to see how City officials and local emergency organizations came together to help residents and businesses in the weeks following the earthquake.
This is also a great time to check your emergency supply kits and talk with your family about being prepared for any disasters. For emergency preparedness resources, visit santa-clarita.com/emergency
