Possession of Methamphetamine

A deputy with the JTeam was patrolling Newhall when he observed a vehicle with expired registration. Upon speaking with the male driver, the deputy learned the male was in possession of methamphetamine.

A search of the male resulted in the recovery of methamphetamine and a narcotics pipe. While searching his vehicle, the deputy observed a baseball bat which the male identified as possessing for “self-defense” purposes.

Records indicated the male had an outstanding warrant and required an interlock device in his vehicle, which he did not have. He was arrested for possession of a billy club, methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia, alongside his warrant. He was booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody at this time.
