#WhileYouWereSleeping….Deputies with the Special Assignment Team were patrolling the Newhall park and ride when they contacted a male adult possibly engaging in criminal activity.
While speaking with the male, deputies observed drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. A further search additionally resulted in the recovery of a small container of cocaine. The male was noted to be on active parole.
During this investigation, a second vehicle drove up and parked alongside the investigation. Deputies found this odd and contacted the male driver who had exited his vehicle.
While speaking with the male alongside his car, they saw an open alcoholic container and learned he also possessed narcotics inside the vehicle. A search resulted in the recovery of drug paraphernalia, cocaine and a loaded firearm not registered to the male. A records check also identified several warrants named to the male.
The first male contacted was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and given a parole violation. The second male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance while armed with a firearm, among other weapons and narcotics related charges.
Both males were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station where they both remain in custody at this time.
