On Sunday, March 23, former West Ranch High School standout Ben Cushnie’s current college team, the USC Trojans, won 7-1 in their NCAA Division I baseball game against the Nebraska Cornhuskers.
The game took place at Dedeaux Field. This was their third matchup against the Cornhuskers this season.
The Trojans’ next game is scheduled for Tuesday, March 25 at 6 p.m. at Dedeaux Field against UC Irvine Anteaters.
In January 2025, Mecklenburg County Magistrate Teresa Stokes signed the release of DeCarlos Brown Jr., a repeat arrestee later accused of fatally stabbing Iryna Zarutska on Charlotte’s light-rail.
Mecklenburg County received $3.3 million from a Chicago-based political foundation after leaders agreed to “reduce the use of incarceration” for repeat criminals like DeCarlos Brown, Jr.
These former Northwest Los Angeles County area high school athletes will be active in competitions the week of Monday, Sept. 8.
