UPDATE (12:15 p.m.): Both directions of Newhall Avenue are now open. Those driving into Santa Clarita from SR-14 have one lane open – those driving from Santa Clarita toward SR-14 have all lanes open.

UPDATE (9:33 a.m.): Westbound Newhall Ave is still closed between Sierra Highway and the Shell gas station. Eastbound is back open. A crane has arrived on site to assist.

ALERT: Newhall Avenue is CLOSED between Valle del Oro and Sierra Highway due to a live power line on the road. Use an alternate route.
