Dial 911 for life threatening emergencies only.
A male began repeatedly dialing 911 lines in the Santa Clarita Valley Station dispatch center. The calls were purposely disruptive and consisted of profanity, taunting, and rude comments. The calls lasted a few hours and the caller refused to stop holding up 911 lines for others. Dispatch personnel were forced to answer each call to determine if it was a legitimate 911 emergency.
During the disruptive calls, dispatch personnel received calls for several emergencies including a brush fire and a burglary in progress. Dispatch personnel worked diligently to try and identify the caller and his location.
The male was arrested and the phone was recovered for evidence.
If you have a non emergency, please dial 661-260-4000 to contact Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station.
