Community Academy
After a brief hiatus due to the pandemic, the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is happy to bring back the Sheriff’s Community Academy beginning July 19th, 2022.  The Sheriff’s Community Academy offers a limited number of community members the exclusive opportunity to learn about every aspect of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.  The Community Academy will focus on how deputies serve our community and the inner-workings of community protection within the Santa Clarita Valley.
The Community Academy will meet every Tuesday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., beginning July 19th, 2022, and conclude on August 30th, 2022, taking place at the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station community room.  Please note that field trip days may be longer.
The seven sessions will cover topics such as, patrol procedures, jail operations, detective bureau investigations, gang and narcotic enforcement. One session will be a field trip to one of the Sheriff’s Department maximum security jails in Castaic.
Interested community members should contact Deputy Kabrina Borbon via email at ka1borbo@lasd.org.  There is limited space available and only 25 applicants* will be selected at random and accepted for the upcoming academy.  The last day to submit applications for the Community Academy will be Saturday, June 25th, 2022.
