Congratulations to Detective McCarthy and Detective Lambrecht who were recognized by the Office of Los Angeles County Supervisor Kathryn Barger, nominated by Victims Services Rep, Nadine Teter, for going above and beyond providing assistance to victims.
On one occasion, a 21 year old autistic male from Minnesota traveled to California to reconcile with his estranged mother, only to be defrauded by the woman and her boyfriend.
The victim was left stranded without any property, all stolen by the suspects.  SCV Sheriffs were contacted regarding the victim, who was unfamiliar to the area. Detective McCarthy and Detective Lambrecht received word of the incident and quickly assisted the victim by arranging accommodations for the night, food and a safe flight home.
Together, they personally drove the victim to the airport and ensured he safely got on the plane.  Upon his arrival, they proceeded to confirm his safe landing and made sure he was met by a proper guardian.
These two detectives went above and beyond making sure the victim was comforted during such a vulnerable state.
