Always Remain Diligent

Our School Resource Deputies always remain diligent, even after school hours, such as during a recent crime suppression operation which resulted in two great arrests…

While patrolling Castaic, deputies observed a couple sitting in a vehicle of a hotel parking lot, appearing distraught. As deputies approached the vehicle to conduct a welfare check, a male immediately exited and tossed a baggie of methamphetamine onto the vehicle.

A male and female were detained pending further investigation. During a search of the female, deputies located a loaded handgun in her waistband. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of numerous documents not named to either party, among other contraband.

The male, who is a convicted felon, was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and more. The female was arrested for identity theft and carrying a concealed firearm in the vehicle. They were booked into the SCV Sheriff’s Station where they remain in custody at this time.
